Esbjorn Svensson, Curios, Kit Downes, the Bad Plus – all key names in the growth of the piano trio as three-part conversation and Paul Baxter`s new trio Eyes Tight Shut Trio, continues the logical development.. ..The intuitive group explores the possibilities offered by Paul’s compositions.
Over the past year since their debut release "Evolution" the trio have been performing throughout the UK and Europe developing a unique sound. Paul Baxter feels that their 2011 release "The Thaw" showcases their sound, a mix of Keith Jarrett/Paul Motion/Charlie Haden with EST and Avishai Cohen. Be good to see Jonny Tomlinson back at Seven where he was a frequen visitor whilst a student at LCM
