Norma Winstone vocals, Nikki Iles piano, Mike Walker guitar, Mark Lockheart sax, Steve Watts bass, James Maddren drums
Brought together by their collective love of song, “The Printmakers” cross the boundaries that traditionally separate jazz, folk and the contemporary music world. The repertoire has the distinctive air of English song, including originals by band members, as well as exploring the relatively uncharted territory of Steve Swallow, Ralph Towner, Joni Mitchell, and the poetry of Rupert Brooke.
“The Printmakers” is headed by ECM recording artist and pioneering innovator of the voice in jazz Norma Winstone, and featuring some of the most in demand players on the British jazz scene. Highly respected pianist and composer Nikki Iles and guitarist Mike Walker’s almost telepathic empathy and energy will be familiar to many. Completing the line-up are saxophonist Mark Lockheart, bass player Steve Watts, and drummer James Maddren
