About
Ben Lowman is an in-demand saxophonist, flautist and clarinetist based in the north of England, specifically Leeds. He started playing the saxophone at the age of 10 and studied in various ensembles through his school years a highlight being Devon Youth Jazz Orchestra (DYJO), as well as playing in other professional function bands and big bands, including ‘Dave Hankin Big Band’ and ‘The Exeter College Dreamband.’
During his continued education at Leeds College of Music (2008 - 2011), Ben studied alongside renowned performers and educators including Joel Purnell, Jim Corry, Jamie Taylor, Mark Donlon & Kathy Dyson to name a few. Since graduating with honors in 2011, he’s continued to work alongside the above tutors as well as having the pleasure of working with other artists and educators including: Sam Dunn, Kate Peters, Garry Jackson, John Marley, Kevin Holborough, Graham Hearne & Al Wood....
