Established in 1968, London-based Trojan Records was the first label to distribute the music of Jamaica on a grand scale. It became for many in the UK the first point of contact with Jamaican music and culture, and offered a meeting place for young people to celebrate in sound what unites rather than divides us. With its reworkings of popular tunes and innovative originals, Trojan became a crucial link between two very different cultures.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the extraordinary phenomenon that was Trojan Records, Gary Crosby regroups his Jazz Jamaica All Stars for a spectacular show, The Trojan Story fielding an impressive line-up of established and rising stars, and featuring vocalists Brinsley Forde, Noel McKoy and Dem Three (Cherise Adams-Burnett, Kianja Harvey-Elliott and Cara Crosby-Irons) plus Hull Freedom Chorus....
